Description

Control cute (and nervous!) little creatures called Explobers as they work together to blast new paths and build their own platforms through dozens of challenging puzzles. A retro-inspired puzzle platformer, Explobers is packed full of varied environmental brain-teasers!

History

Explobers began life as an experimental prototype based on prolific developer John D. Moore’s own highly acclaimed 2013 puzzle platformer “Super Stone Ball.” It was later developed into a deep, full game experience, fused with the influence of many games from PC gaming’s classic shareware age. The game represents John’s most expansive and complex project to date. Developed over the course of seven months while John completed a master’s degree, the project was released in the fall of 2017.

Features

  • SINGLE-PLAYER COLLABORATIVE PLAY: Control up to three types of Explobers in each stage and use their skills!
  • CONQUER YOUR ENVIRONMENT: The Explobers can either destroy terrain with powerful blasts or become platforms to ensure their successors’ progress.
  • RETRO  CHARM (PLUS!): The game begins with the beloved and simple 16-color palette from the classic EGA adapter for PCs. As you progress, unlock alternate graphics modes and themes. The game also comes with an instruction manual lovingly crafted in the style of those of classic games.
  • CHALLENGE MODE FOR EXPERT PLAYERS: Meet special challenges in each stage to unlock rewards! Stages can be revisited at any time to aim for a new personal best!
  • FULLY CUSTOMIZABLE CONTROLS: Play the way you like with customizable keyboard and gamepad controls.
  • JAPANESE LANGUAGE SUPPORT: The game is fully playable in English and Japanese!
